Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At Whitehill Community Academy we are a fully inclusive school and every child, whatever their individual abilities or needs, is equally valued and welcome here. We are committed to identifying barriers to learning and helping children to overcome them. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have high expectations for all children. The achievements, attitudes and well-being of all our children matter and we celebrate the achievements of everyone. We are very proud to have held the prestigious Inclusion Quality Mark Since 2011.We have been an Inclusion Quality Mark School of Excellence for the past three years and we are delighted to announce that we have now achieved Flagship School status. This very exclusive award recognises the best practice for inclusion. Our Flagship status was confirmed July 2018.The report commented that “The School Team is fully committed to Inclusive practice and is prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to support the children in their care. They show determination and effort in all aspects of their work.”We join around 100 schools in the UK with this status and are very proud of this achievement.
