We are a thriving academy with a proud history of providing quality education to children from our community.

I am proud and privileged to lead this school having started here as a teacher in 2004. At Whitehill Community Academy, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future, and we are dedicated to providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in life.

Jacqueline Roche

Head of Inclusion & Safeguarding

I believe that our priority is to put children’s development and well-being as our goals. As part of the senior team I aim to provide the best facilities, environments, and teaching team so that our children at Whitehill can attain their full potential.

I have a wealth of experience in education teaching children across the primary age range. My teaching career spans over 20 years, beginning in year 5. Over the years I have taught in both Key Stages and Early Years classes at Whitehill Community Academy. As my career progressed, I have been Early Years lead and SENCo with responsibility for Healthy Schools. This has moved on to 6 years of leaderships experience as the Head of Inclusion & Safeguarding.

As a member of the senior leadership team, I am is committed to the growth, development and well-being of every individual child. I believe that successful learning and progress is achieved by every child being treated as an individual and feeling safe in school. A key part of this is working collaboratively with parents.

Michelle Sullivan

Assistant Principal

At Whitehill, we aim to deliver an ambitious curriculum that encourages children to foster a love of learning whilst developing academically and reaching their full potential.

Part of my role as Assistant Head is to ensure that children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum that embeds prior knowledge and gets them ‘ready’ for their future learning.
I am proud to work with our talented subject leaders, who have helped shape and sequence the learning for children to experience in the classroom. Our curriculum is designed to enable children to become ‘responsible’ people in school and wider society. An important part of my role is to work alongside other leaders to ensure that the curriculum we deliver gives each child the opportunity to succeed and become ‘respectful’ individuals who strive for their own success.

Naomi Thackray-Harris

Assistant Principal

As Assistant Headteacher at Whitehill Community Academy, my overarching objective is to ensure that every child under our care receives a consistently high standard of education within an environment in which they can truly flourish.

Seventeen years ago, my journey at Whitehill Community Academy began as a student teacher and I’ve worked here ever since. Throughout my career, I've taught within each phase of primary education, from Reception to Year 6. I’ve enjoyed every moment and have learnt as much from my pupils as they have from me. This broad experience has nurtured a passion for high-quality teaching and learning, a passion that has become the main focus of my leadership role.

As Assistant Headteacher at Whitehill Community Academy, my overarching objective is to ensure that every child under our care receives a consistently high standard of education within an environment in which they can truly flourish. This aim is implemented through a strategic framework of evidence-based CPD, careful monitoring, and an unwavering commitment to upholding exceptional educational standards. Through this comprehensive approach, Whitehill Community Academy is dedicated to ensuring that each student leaves us ready to become respectful and responsible members of our community with the best possible start to their educational journey.

Melissa Bell

Associate Assistant Principal

The quality of education in the Early Years provides the foundation and initial building blocks for all children who are beginning their learning journey at Whitehill.

We encourage children to become curious, resilient, confident and independent learners who are prepared for the next stage in their education. As part of my role as Assistant Head for Early Years I ensure that the Early Years Framework is delivered to the highest possible standard and that all children are given the best possible start to their education in our Nursery and Reception units.

We achieve this by offering a broad and balanced curriculum where children are offered endless opportunities to explore, think critically and develop academically. Our approach includes a careful balance of play based and adult directed opportunities which are purposefully planned to match the children’s next steps in learning and development. As part of my role I am proud to lead a team of very skilled and experienced Early Years practitioners who strive to constantly improve.
